It’s all of the little things…A sweet tale from the #landofcute.

So, not long ago Marcus got his first robe. It’s a hand me down from his cousin Jonah Cooper, who is now 6’4 (and dashingly handsome). So the other day we bought Marcus his first pair of slippers. The MOMENT we got home on top of his clothes he put on his robe and his new slippers. He would have slept in both had I not intervened.
It’s the end of the day, Marcus is in bed and I am sitting next to him and we are listening to The Magician’s Nephew. Marcus pipes up ” I think I would like to have a nightcap”
I am remain dead silent, I know a tale from the #landofcute is coming. I have no idea if he wants vodka or a hat. So, I ask
“What do you mean?”
“Well now that I have a robe and slippers, I think I need a night cap” and I am thinking to my self, where does he even know about night caps?
“Hmmmm, Let’s talk about it tomorrow”
“Good night Mommy”
“Good night Marcus. Love you”
“Love you too”

A gastrointestinal tale from the #landofcute

So today I told Marcus that my biological mother, who lives in Calgary has Celiac disease.
“What’s that?”
I explained to Marcus how the disease worked and how L Deborah Sword cannot eat any wheat or she can get really sick.
“What about cookies? Can she eat any cookies?” On and on he started to understand all of the products with wheat in them. He was very distraught for her.
“Mommy, can we send her some flowers?”
“Really?”
“Yes, and the card should read “I hope you like the flowers and I am sorry you can’t eat wheat”
So we did. She was so tickled.
